08-12-20Nikon Kurnosov (University College London)

Nikon Kurnosov will talk on 8th December, at 1.45pm UK time, or 2.45pm Belgian time. The title of Nikon’s talk is “Deformation theory and geometry of Bogomolov-Guan manifolds” and the abstract is below.

Deformation theory and geometry of Bogomolov-Guan manifolds

In 1994, Guan published a series of papers constructing non-Kähler holomorphic symplectic manifolds, challenging a conjecture by Todorov. These examples, called now BG manifolds were given a more transparent presentation by Bogomolov in ’96, which emphasizes the analogy with the Kodaira-Thurston example of non-Kähler symplectic surfaces. We will discuss some important properties of BG manifolds: deformation theory, which is quite similar to that of the hyperKaehler case, algebraic reduction and submanifolds.
