Reading seminar on Wednesday 23rd September
The next reading seminar will take place at 11am on Wednesday 23rd September (and not in our usual Tuesday slot). It will be held in the Salle des Profs on the 9th floor of building NO. Michael Khanevsky will present the paper Renormalized area and properly embedded minimal surfaces in hyperbolic 3-manifolds by Alexakis and Mazzeo.
We are still looking for speakers or suggestions of articles for more reading seminars later in the term, so if you have ideas, please get in touch!
Save the date: Brussels-London 8 will be held on 1 December
The 8th Brussels-London seminar will take place on 1st December, in Brussels. The theme is lower bounds on Ricci curvature and we already have two confirmed speakers: Andrea Mondino (ETH Zurich, Switzerland) and Fabio Cavalletti (Pavia, Italy). Contact geometry conference at the ULB, 14-16 December
On December 14-16 there will be a conference held here at the ULB dedicated to contact and symplectic geometry, and in particular developments around the recent work of Eliashberg-Murphy-Strom on flexibility and contact structures in all dimensions. [Read more…]
