Vincent Colin (Université de Nantes) will speak in the geometry seminar on the 24th November. The talk will take place at 10.30am and the room wll be communicated soon. Please note the unusual day (Friday) and unsusual time, which is earlier than usual! Vincent’s title is “Topological entropy of the Reeb vector field” and his abstract is below.
We show, via the use of open book decompositions, that on almost every contact 3-manifold, every Reeb vector field has positive topological entropy. This is a joint work with Marcelo Alves and Ko Honda.
