Roman Golovko – an introduction to Legendrians 20th September

The next informal seminar will be given by Roman Golovko, with the title “A gentle introduction to Legendrian submanifolds towards Arnold-type estimates”. The talk will take place on Tuesday 20th September 10-12, in the Salle de Profs, (mathematics department, on the 9th floor of building NO, Campus de la Plaine). Roman’s abstract is below.

We give a short introduction to Legendrian submanifolds of a contact manifold, their classical and modern invariants, and the notion of a Lagrangian cobordism. At the end of the talk, we will discuss several Arnold-type estimates.

Getting here

The department of mathematics is in building NO, on the Campus de la Plaine, of the Université libre de Bruxelles. The geometry group is on the 7th floor. This map shows NO, as well as the metro station Delta and entrance 2, which is right by the stop for the number 71 and 72 buses. The number 95 also stops a short walk from the department.
