Postdocs and permanent position open in Edinburgh

The School of Mathematics at University of Edinburgh is currently advertising a number of positions of interest to algebraic geometers. The original advert, from Arend Bayer, is repeated below.

Postdoc positions

  1. One 2-year post-doc position in algebraic geometry, funded by Arend Bayer’s ERC grant. Please contact Arend Bayer with any questions. Deadline December 1.
  2. Two positions for 2.5 and 3 years in “topology” and “representation theory”, funded by David Jordan’s ERC grant “The quantum geometric Langlands topological field theory”. Please contact David Jordan with any questions. Deadline is December 1.
  3. The two-year “Seggie Brown fellowship”, open for applicants across all of mathematics. Candidates are encouraged to contact Iain Gordon with questions about the position, or anyone in Edinburgh in their research area. Deadline is December 2.

Permanent position

We are also currently advertising a lectureship position, open to all areas of mathematics. Informal queries about the position are welcome, either to Iain Gordon or again anyone in your research area.

More information

Full details for each job posting are available at on the departmental web page. More information about our research group in algebra and geometry (currently 17 permanent/recently retired staff, 10 post-docs and 15 PhD students) can be found on the Hodge Institute website.
