Maÿlis Limouzineau to speak in geometry seminar, 7th December

Maÿlis Limouzineau (University of Cologne) will speak in the geometry seminar on the 7th December. The talk will take place in the Salle de Profs (9th floor, NO) at 13.30pm. Maÿlis’s title is “Constructions of Legendrian cobordisms and generating functions” and the abstract is below.

A remarkable class of Legendrian submanifolds in the standard contact space is the one of Legendrian submanifolds which are obtained as contours of generating functions (gf’s). We are interested in Legendrian cobordisms with respect to this gf-equipment. The aim of our talk is to discuss rigidity of such cobordisms through several constructions. We will show in particular that the set of Legendrian knots modulo Legendrian concordances, endowed with the connected sum operation, form a group, and this group structure is compatible with the gf-equipment.
