Our very own Kael Dixon will speak in the geometry seminar at 11am on 29th November in the Salle de Profs. His title is “Ambitoric 4-manifolds” and his abstract is below.
Ambitoric manifolds have the structure of a toric Kahler manifold in two different ways with opposite orientations. I will show how these are natural objects to study from the perspective of conformal Riemannian geometry in four dimensions. I will then briefly present a local classification of these objects. If time permits, I will sketch how I extended this local classification to a global one in my thesis work.
