The first geometry seminar of term will be given by Husuan-Yi Liao (Penn State). The talk will take place at 1.30pm on 19th September, in the Salle de Profs (9th floor of building NO). His title is “Formality theorem for Lie pairs” and his abstract is below.
We establish a formality theorem for Lie pair, i.e. a Lie algebroid with a Lie subalgebroid, which contains various geometrical situations such as g-manifolds, complex manifolds, and regular foliations. In this talk, I’ll start with a review of the classical deformation quantization problem and Kontsevich formality theorem. After that, I’ll talk about the formality theorem for g-manifold, i.e., a smooth manifold with a Lie algebra action. The analogous theorems for Lie pairs and other geometrical situations will be explained as well.
