Hugues Auvray (Orsay, Paris) will speak in the geometry seminar on Tuesday 17th November, 2015. The talk will take place in the Salle de profs (assuming the renovations are complete!) at 2pm. Hugue’s title is Extremal metrics of Poincaré type: asymptotic properties. His abstract follows.
Kähler metrics with cuspoidal singularities are a natural class of complete Kähler metrics with finite volume on the complement of a divisor in a compact Kähler manifold. Calabi’s programme of searching for canonical Kähler metrics (for example, extremal metrics) works nicely in this setting. I will present results on the asymptotic behaviour (near to the divisor) of such complete extremal metrics implying, in particular, strong constraints on the divisor itself.
