Hartmut Weiss to talk in geometry seminar 15/11/2022

Hartmut Weiss will speak in the geometry seminar at 2pm on 15/11/2022. Hartmut’s title is “Parabolic Higgs bundles and gravitational instantons” and his abstract is below.

I will review recent progress on the classification of gravitational instantons, i.e. 4-dimensional complete hyperkähler manifolds with curvature in L^2. Then I will describe how moduli spaces of parabolic Higgs bundles fit into this classification scheme. This is joint work with Laura Fredrickson, Rafe Mazzeo and Jan Swoboda.

The department of mathematics is in building NO, on the Campus de la Plaine, of the Université libre de Bruxelles. The geometry group is on the 7th floor. This map shows NO, as well as the metro station Delta and entrance 2, which is right by the stop for the number 71 and 72 buses. The number 95 also stops a short walk from the department.
