The geometry seminar on Tuesday 27th October will be given by Dmitri Panov of King’s College London. The seminar will start at 2pm, in troom O8.08 (8th floor of building NO).

Dmitri’s title is Spherical metrics with conical singularities on $latex S^2$. His abstract is below.

Spherical metrics with conical singularities on $latex S^2$.
I will describe a joint work with Gabirele Mondello, where we study the following question: what are possible conical angles of a curvature one metric with conical singularities on $latex S^2$?

Getting here

The department of mathematics is in building NO, on the Campus de la Plaine, of the Université libre de Bruxelles. The geometry group is on the 7th floor. This map shows NO, as well as the metro station Delta and entrance 2, which is right by the stop for the number 71 and 72 buses. The number 95 also stops a short walk from the department.
