César Lecoutre (Université Libre de Bruxelles) will speak in the geometry seminar on the 23 November. The talk will take place in the Salle de Profs (9th floor, NO) at 13.30pm. His title is “A new family of Poisson algebras and their deformations” and the abstract is below.
In noncommutative algebraic geometry, the analogue of polynomial rings are the so-called Artin-Schelter regular algebras (similar to polynomial rings from an homological point of view but not necessarily commutative). We study a new family of Artin-Schelter regular algebras R(n,a) generalising to any dimension an example given by Pym in dimension 3. The ring theoretical properties of an algebra R(n,a) are studied in comparison with those of its semi-classical limit. More geometrically, we give an explicit description of the prime spectrum of R(n,a) and describe its point modules.
