Amanda Hirschi to speak in the geometry seminar 12th April 2024

Amanda Hirschi (Paris) will give the geometry seminar at 2pm on 12/04/2024, in the Salle des Profs (9th floor of building NO). Amanda’s title is “Global Kuranishi charts for moduli spaces of stable pseudoholomorphic maps” and her abstract is below.

In 2021, Abouzaid, McLean and Smith achieved a breakthrough by constructing a global Kuranishi chart for moduli spaces of stable pseudoholomorphic maps in genus zero. In this talk, I will describe a generalisation of their construction for moduli spaces of stable maps of arbitrary genus and how this allows for a straightforward definition of Gromov-Witten invariants.  Subsequently, I will prove a formula for the Gromov-Witten invariants of a product manifold in terms of the invariants of its factors and outline how a similar argument can be used to show that the Kontsevich-Manin axioms are satisfied. This is partially joint work with Mohan Swaminathan.
