Benoît Daniel, from the University of Lorraine, will give the geometry seminar on 20th October, at 2pm in O8.08, 8th floor of building NO. His title is *Minimal isometric immersions into $latex S^2 \times \mathbf{R}$ and $latex H^2 \times \mathbf{R}$.* His abstract follows.

## Liviu Ornea to talk in the geometry seminar, 12/10/2015

The next talk in the geometry seminar will be given by Liviu Ornea from the University of Bucharest. The talk will be at 2pm, on **Monday**, 12th October, in the Salle de Profs (9th floor of building NO). Please note the change of day. Liviu’s title is *CR manifolds in locally conformally Kähler geometry,* and his abstract follows.

## Desingularisation of Einstein metrics – a reading seminar on 6th October

The next reading seminar will take place on Tuesday 6th October at 2pm in the Salle de Profs. Patrick will take us through the article *Desingularisation of Einstein metrics, I*, by Olivier Biquard.

## Symplectic Field Theory 8 – August 8-12 2016

There has been a preliminary announcement for the 8th Workshop on Symplectic Field Theory, which will take place at Humboldt University in Berlin during the week of August 8-12, 2016 (plus a precourse for PhD students and other non-experts on the preceding weekend). The focus of the workshop will be on Symplectic Homology, including lecture series by Tobias Ekholm, Mark McLean, and Alex Oancea, and additional speakers to be confirmed. [Read more…]
