The abstract is below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Completions of period mappings.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>It\u2019s a long standing problem in Hodge theory to complete the image of a period map. \u00a0The latter arise in the study of algebraic moduli, and are proper holomorphic maps into locally homogeneous spaces that are subject to a differential constraint. \u00a0I\u2019ll give a survey of the problem and then describe recent progress, with an emphasis on the role of complex geometry and Lie theory. \u00a0Joint with Mark Green and Phillip Griffiths.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Colleen Robles will talk on 27th October, at 1.45pm UK time, or 2.45pm Belgian time.
